About the event
Join Ray McCormack, Dave Quick, Kevin Pfluger, and HEN Nozzles for a two-day Engine Crew Clinic focused on three essential roles: Nozzleman, Backup, and Boss. The program pairs focused classroom instruction with hands-on skill stations to strengthen coordination, communication, and interior fire attack operations.
Each lecture covers the responsibilities of each position on the engine crew. On the second day, students put those concepts into practice, applying sound tactics, efficient movement, disciplined fire control, and decisive leadership.
What to expect:
Wednesday, October 28, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM: Classroom instruction focused on the Nozzleman, Backup, and Boss.
Thursday, October 29, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM: Hands-on skill stations that reinforce the classroom instruction through practical application.
Across both days, students will build a clearer understanding of the Nozzleman, Backup, and Boss roles, then apply that instruction in hands-on skill stations. The focus is on the coordination, communication, and sound decisions that help engine crews operate effectively together.
Students must provide their own PPE for hands-on activities. SCBAs are optional for attendees.
Know your role. Move as one. Join us to sharpen the skills that help an engine crew work together on the fireground.
Registration is required and closes 72 hours prior to the event. Walk-ins will not be accepted. Space is limited, and events often reach capacity, so reserve your spot early. For registration questions, please contact Alex Cummings at alex.cummings@hennozzles.com.
