Captain Mark Rossi is an accredited fire officer and 25-year veteran with the City of Fort Lauderdale Fire Department currently assigned to Engine Company 8 in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Captain Rossi has been training and mentoring in one capacity or another since 2005.He is the founder of both the Big Fire- Big Water Class & the First Due Engine/Truck Class both born out of a passion for making the fire service better than he found it.

I am a 25 year perpetual student of the fire service with 22 years of teaching experience in fire, rescue, and EMS. My focus is on training, development, and coaching of the individual firefighter to improve organizational outcomes. I believe that a well rounded firefighter, who understands fire behavior and how we can impact fire growth through suppression methods, stands the best chance at successful suppression.

Sean is a firefighter with over 20 years in the fire service and Co-Founded Build Your Culture, where his training sessions are known for their realism, intensity, and emphasis on critical thinking, making them some of the most sought-after courses in the country. He has authored articles for several fire service publications, including Fire Engineering and "The Book of Search". Sean is a frequent National and International speaker and hands-on instructor, including presenting at FDIC. In 2024, Sean was appointed to serve on the panel for the UL Fire Safety Research Institute's multi-story residential tactics research project. He strongly believes in preparation to achieve the best possible outcomes both on and off the fire ground.

Flow and Vent was founded by a couple firefighters who believed that there is more to the fire service than just being a t-shirt fireman. It is a page dedicated to providing some tricks to the firefighting trade. We are going to provide you with drills, methods, and insights on things that we have found effective in performing the job. Our administration is made of a breed of young firefighters, ranging from all walks of life, and completely different departments. However, we have one thing in common, we love the job.
