Join HEN, Dinges Fire, and leading fire service manufacturers for an evening of hands-on training at the Byron Fire Protection District Training Facility. Rotate through practical training stations focused on thermal imaging, fire behavior, hose advancement, nozzle control, and vehicle extrication.

About the event
Join HEN and Dinges Fire for an evening of hands-on firefighter training focused on practical skills and real-world fireground performance.
Attendees will rotate through four training stations covering thermal imaging, flashover and fire behavior, hoseline advancement and nozzle control, and vehicle extrication. The program is designed to give firefighters opportunities to work directly with equipment, instructors, and manufacturers while developing skills they can take back to their departments.
Training Stations
Thermal Imaging: Learn how to apply TIC data during suppression and search operations.
Flashover & Fire Behavior: Experience a live flashover environment while examining fire development, behavior, heat signatures, and key thermal imaging cues.
Flow, Move & Take Control: Work on flowing the proper GPM while advancing an attack line, with an emphasis on nozzle firefighter body positioning, water application, backup firefighter positioning, and movement.
Extrication Scenarios: Rotate through hands-on scenarios using AMKUS rescue tools to reinforce tool familiarity, problem-solving, and advanced cutting techniques.

HEN, Bullard, AMKUS, 3M Scott, FAST, LION, IDEX, Kuriyama, ESI-JYD, Groves Ready Rack, Streamlight, Vanguard, and SuperVac.

Participation Requirements
Must be 18 years or older
Must hold Firefighter I (FF1) certification
Must be an active member in good standing with a fire department
Must bring and wear full PPE, including SCBA, for all hands-on activities
Those who do not meet the participation requirements may attend only as observers.
